1/2 cup butter or margarine - (1 stick)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
8 ounces Baker’s Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate
7 eggs
1 1/2 cups ground walnuts
1/3 cup flour
Powdered sugar
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
Beat butter and 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Blend in chocolate. Add egg yolks, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Toss ground walnuts and flour. Stir into butter mixture.
Beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar, beating until soft peaks form. Stir 1/4 of the egg whites into chocolate batter. Fold in remaining egg whites. Pour into 9-inch springform pan sprayed with no stick cooking spray.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove rim and cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and garnish with additional walnut pieces, if desired. Cut into wedges to serve.
This recipe yields 10 servings.
