1 pound great northern white beans
3 bacon strips - (to 4)
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
1/4 cup chopped celery
Salt
Freshly-ground black pepper
1/4 cup cooking oil
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
Let beans soak overnight in the refrigerator. Put all ingredients in crockpot and cook on LOW about 4 hours. If the beans are cooked but the "gravy" is too thin, you may have to boil the beans on the stove until it is thicker. Serve over rice.
Comments: I've seem some recipes say don't boil the beans too hard so the beans won't burst. I say let them burst!! This is what makes it good!! -Angie.
