Ingredients:

1                   ham bone with a small amount of ham
                    still on it
2     cups          Navy beans or mixed beans
8     cups          water
                    (3 cups more may be added after bone is
                    taken out, then cook some more)
1                   garlic clove
                    (or 1/2 tspn garlic powder)
1     tablespoon    lemon juice
1     tablespoon    honey
1                   bay leaf
1     large         onion
                    Salt
                    Freshly-ground black pepper
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
  1. Wash beans. Put everything in crock pot along with a ham bone (that has a small amount of ham still on). Start cooking at HIGH and after it starts cooking, turn to simmer. Cook all night and until serving time at noon or even later. Remove the bone in the early morning and add more water. Remove bay leaf before serving.
