3 pounds Granny Smith apples
and sliced
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 dash freshly-grated nutmeg
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon butter - (to 2 tbspns)
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
Place apple slices in the crockpot; stir in remaining ingredients and dot with the butter. Cover and cook on LOW for about 6 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy. Stir about halfway through cooking.
This recipe yields 2 1/2 to 3 cups.
Comments: Use these apples as a topping, a filling, or alone topped with whipped cream.
