Ingredients:

1     pound         lean ground beef (10% or less fat)
2     medium        zucchini
1                   onion
2     tablespoons   minced dill
2     teaspoons     dry mustard
1                   jalapeņo pepper (optional)
                    = (wear gloves to prevent irritation)
1/4   teaspoon      freshly-ground black pepper
3     small         whole-wheat pita breads
1 1/2 cups          torn romaine lettuce
2                   tomatoes
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
  1. Spray the broiler or grill rack with nonstick cooking spray; set aside. Preheat the broiler, or prepare the grill.

  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the beef, zucchini, onion, dill, mustard, jalapeņo (if using) and black pepper. Form into 6 patties.

  3. Arrange the patties on the rack; broil 5 inches from the heat 4 to 5 minutes on each side (medium to well-done). Place a hamburger in each pita and top with the lettuce and tomatoes.

  4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
