Ingredients:

11                  egg whites - (1 1/2 cups)
1/2   teaspoon      salt
1     teaspoon      cream of tartar
1     cup           flour
1 1/2 cups          sugar
1     teaspoon      vanilla extract
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
  1. Beat egg whites at medium speed until foamy, 1 minute. Add salt and cream of tartar. Continue beating until stiff peaks form, 5 to 6 minutes.

  2. Sift flour and sugar twice together in separate bowl. Fold into egg white mixture, 2 tablespoons at a time. Fold in vanilla extract.

  3. Turn into ungreased 9-inch tube pan. Bake at 375 degrees until pale golden, 40 minutes. Invert pan on cake rack to cool.

  4. This recipe yields 12 to 14 servings.

  5. Each of 14 servings: 372 calories; 256 mg sodium; 241 mg cholesterol; 15 grams fat; 54 grams carbohydrates; 3 grams protein; 0.02 gram fiber.
